Pasay City East High School’s 796 completers attended the 4th Moving Up Ceremonies on April 3,2019 at Cuneta Astrodome, Pasay City.

With the theme, “Unity in Diversity: Quality Education for All”, the event was a success hosted by Ms. Milkie Gopez, English Teacher III, starting with the Processional by the Guests, Faculty and Candidates for Completion.

The Entrance of Colors was led by PCEHS Boy Scouts; Philippine National Anthem by Ms. Nerissa SM. Tugadi, Teacher Conductress, with Ms. Sonia R. Baes, pianist.

The Invocation by Mrs.  Analyn B. Dorado, OIC-Values Education was a prayer of praise and thanks followed by the singing of Pasay City Hymn.

Christine Ray L. Givertz from Grade 10-Rizal, With High Honors, welcomed everyone with high hopes that all the completers will move up to SHS and eventually to college.

Mr.  Peter R. Cannon Jr., Principal III proudly presented the candidates for completion to Dr. Melody P. Cruz, OIC- Asst. Schools Superintendent for the “Confirmation of Completers”.

Distribution of Certificates of Completion was also with Dr. Melody P. Cruz, OIC- Asst. Schools Division Superintendent, Mr. Peter R. Cannon, Jr., Principal III, Dr. Renato B. Mesada, PSDS- Cluster 10 followed by the Awarding of Medals to Completers with Honors

The messages of Hon. Antonino G. Calixto, City Mayor of Pasay City and Hon Imelda Calixto-Rubiano, Congresswoman- Lone District of Pasay, were both well applauded specifically when the 2 guest speakers emphasized the free education and the financial assistance to completers of Pasay City.

Francesca Maries P. Buguis, the Top among the honor students firmly believed that moving up is the first step to a better and brighter future for all of them. She congratulated and thanked everyone who contributed to all of their achievements specifically their parents and teachers.

The completers were torn in between sadness and happiness. Sad, because they would be separated from classmates, schoolmates and friends but happy, thinking that a new journey awaits all of them.

The event was highlighted by the “community singing of the Moving Up Song, “Go the Distance“with  Ms. Nerissa SM. Tugadi conducting and Ms. Sonia R. Baes playing the piano. By hgdimafelix
